Zero Waste Imaginaries
Social & Graphic Design
for: Creative Coding Utrecht, 2022
Does your neighbourhood suddenly appear on the map as an 'up & coming circular hub'? Are people shown around in suits every week and does your neighborhood turn out to be an Inspiration? Don't give up and join our data walks and creative workshops to think for yourself about a sustainable future that works for you.
I worked as a social and graphic designer on this program for community-driven cultural participation by Creative Coding Utrecht and Utrecht University. A three month (design-)research project start-up to try to engage citizens with different perspectives in imagining a sustainable future for their (and my) neighbourhood Werkspoorkwartier.
I designed creative workshop methods (data walks, map design, creating speculative objects, 3D timeline) and organized workshops in close collaboration with researchers from Utrecht University and Data Experts from Creative Coding Utrecht. After the trial phase, I summarized the outcomes in sketchnote style visualizations, to make the content accessible to more people than those who like reading academic texts.
